PPAP Specialist
Experience Requirements
Experience with, but not limited to:

Quality / document-control systems
SPC / capability analysis tools
Education Requirements
High school/GED and some post secondary schooling in a related manufacturing field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage PPAP activities from initial customer requirements through customer approval and production launch.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and PPAP submission requirements.
- Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation, including:
- Part Submission Warrant (PSW)
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Control Plans
- Dimensional inspection reports
- Material and performance test results
- Capability studies
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA/Gage R&R), as applicable
- Material certifications
- Certificates of compliance
- Sample parts and supporting documentation
- Coordinate first article and dimensional inspections for fabricated sheet metal components.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure drawings, tooling, fixtures, welding processes, fabrication processes, and inspection methods are properly documented.
- Coordinate PPAP requirements for processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending/forming, welding, machining, finishing, and assembly.
- Review inspection results against customer drawings and specifications and coordinate resolution of discrepancies.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions when PPAP requirements are not met.
- Track PPAP status, customer feedback, revisions, and approval dates.
- Communicate with customers regarding PPAP submissions, deviations, questions, and approval requirements.
- Coordinate supplier documentation and certifications when outside processes or purchased components are part of the PPAP.
- Maintain accurate and controlled quality records in accordance with company procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Support APQP, new product introduction, engineering changes, and production launch activities.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, process capability, and manufacturing performance.
- Ensure PPAP documentation is completed in accordance with applicable customer requirements, AIAG guidelines, and internal quality procedures.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of related quality or manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of PPAP and APQP processes
- Sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and process capability
- Experience with dimensional inspection tools and measurement methods
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills
