Shipping Coordinator

Experience Requirements

Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience using shipping software, customer portals, carrier websites, inventory systems, and forklifts is also preferred.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the daily shipping schedule and prioritize orders based on production deadlines, customer requirements, and carrier pickup times.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with freight carriers.
  • Process shipments using UPS, FedEx, carrier, and customer shipping portals.
  • Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels, carton labels, and other required documentation.
  • Enter shipment, receipt, and inventory information accurately into company systems.
  • Stage completed orders and verify products, quantities, packaging, labels, and paperwork before shipment.
  • Count and weigh parts to confirm shipment accuracy.
  • Palletize, wrap, label, and otherwise prepare products for shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift, manual pallet jack, or electric pallet jack.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against purchase orders, manifests, invoices, and other records.
  • Move received materials to the appropriate warehouse, storage, production, or departmental location.
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, production employees, and office personnel regarding schedules, delays, and shipment status.
  • Identify and report damaged materials, quantity discrepancies, missing paperwork, and other shipping or receiving concerns.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and a clean, safe shipping and receiving area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to accurately enter and review shipping and inventory information
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet shipping deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other material-handling equipment
  • Ability to obtain company-required forklift certification
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance
