Weekend Welder

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Technical training or post-secondary education in welding or fabrication preferred
Ability to pass required welding certifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Weekend Welder, you will help fabricate and manufacture quality metal products according to customer and company specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding as needed
  • Fabricating and manufacturing metal parts
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
  • Producing strong, clean welds that meet quality standards
  • Inspecting welds for strength and accuracy
  • Grinding, finishing, and preparing metal materials
  • Troubleshooting welding and fabrication issues
  • Assisting with process improvements and production efficiency
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance
  • Following all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs independently
  • Lift up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Perform bending, crouching, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Work in varying manufacturing temperatures
  • Follow all PPE and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
  • Previous welding or metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Experience with MIG welding required
  • TIG or aluminum welding experience is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and product drawings
  • Experience using measurement tools accurately
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
